I’m the person behind Granny’s Bag!

For most of my life I was a Teacher in early years education, which is why I’m so passionate about helping children develop skills without screens!

Have fun and engage with your children and grandchildren using a variety of activities all found in a granny bag ! 

The aim of the bag is to develop language skills, imagination, confidence, cognitive thinking and social skills without the use of tablets and mobiles. Why not give it a go. You will love it and more importantly so will the children.

Educational aims we consider:

  • Language Skills

    To develop children’s language skills, conversation including listening, speaking, writing and reading using books, games, stickers etc

  • Creative skills

    Develop children’s creative skills using pens, crayons, paper, playdough etc

  • Develop Imagination

    Use cuddly toys, stories and play figures (e.g dinasaurs)

  • Fine Motor Skills

    Develop fine motor skills using pens, crayons, playdough

  • Social Skills

    Develop social skills and relationships through interaction with adults and other children

  • Mathematical skills

What’s in the bags?

All bags will include

One cuddly toy

One story book

Three additional items appropriate to the age of the child

The intention is that the adult will add additional activities to the bag appropriate to the interests

of the child or children
